The Hollander family's European vacation is rudely interrupted when their plane is forced to land in the country of Vulgaria. The Hollanders leave the plane to take pictures of the scenery, but are accused of espionage by the locals. Hunted by Vulgarian soldiers, they take refuge in the American Embassy under the protection of the usual ambassador's absent-minded son.
