TERMS OF USE / PPR / DIGITAL SITE LICENSES
PUBLIC PERFORMANCE RIGHTS allow educational and non profit groups to exhibit our films to groups of 50 or fewer individuals where admission is not charged. The term of the public performance license is for the life of the DVD. However, if you intend to charge admission, expect an audience over
50, or publicly advertise the screening, then we ask that you contact us regarding an exhibition fee. Films purchased without Public Performance Rights are restricted for individual viewing or face-to-face teaching in the classroom only.
DIGITAL SITE LICENSES
Kino Lorber Edu is proud to offer Digital Site Licenses, which allow colleges, universities or libraries to encode, locally host and stream to their community on a closed system for the life of the digital file.
Q. What are the benefits of a Digital Site License?
A. An unlimited number of viewers are able to access the film once it is encoded. The film can also be viewed
multiple times allowing students to review the material if necessary for assignments. Films can be uploaded
and viewed from multiple locations simultaneously. Overall, digital site licenses maximize the number of
individuals who have access to the film.
Q. Are Digital Site Licenses available for all Kino Lorber Edu films?
A. Almost all films in our library are available with PPR, without PPR and with Digital Site Licenses. There
are rare select titles that are not available with any educational rights. Please visit our website to find details
on availability per title.
Q. Are universities or libraries responsible for uploading the film onto a locally hosted server themselves
or does Kino Lorber Edu upload the files?
A. The organization that purchases the license will receive either a DVD to encode from or we will upload
a digital file to the host's specifications to an FTP.
Q. How long does a Digital Site License last?
A. All Digital Site Licenses we offer are available for the life of the digital file.
Q. How much will the license cost my university or library?
A. Digital Site Licenses are available both with and without Public Performance Rights.
- DSL $499
- PPR with DSL $599
